Applications for a Family Fund grant must be made by the parent or carer of the disabled child or young person.

If you are a professional working with a parent or carer of a disabled child or young person, you can support the family to complete the application.

If the family is applying for the first time

Families applying for the first time need to confirm they meet both the child and young person eligibility criteria and the household eligibility criteria before they submit an application.

If the family meet the criteria, we recommend they submit an application.

First time families can now register and apply online.

If they prefer, an application can be made through the post with a paper application. Yourself or the Family can download an application form or ask for an application pack to be sent to you.

We accept one application per household, so if you are completing an application on behalf of more than one child, please complete an additional child form for each child.

If the family has applied before

After a family has been awarded a grant, they can submit another application 12 months from the date the previous grant was applied for if the family are based in Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales, and 15 months if based in England.

The family are able to apply online if they live in England, Scotland or Northern Ireland.

If the family prefer to complete a paper application form, you can download an application form or ask for an application pack to be sent to you.

Families living in Wales need to complete a Wales paper application form if they have applied before.

The application form and brochure contain all the information about how to fill in the form and what documents you need to include.
