Do you have an iPad and want to learn how to make the most of it? Why not come and see us on Thursday 30 March in York?

Family Fund, in partnership with Explore York, are holding a free training session for families raising seriously ill or disabled children to help you understand more about how your iPad works (or at least keep up with your children!) Our Apple Education Trainer will be running the workshop at 12.30pm which will cover some, or all, of the following:

  • Customising your iPad to address any vision, hearing, motor and learning needs of your child
  • Parental controls and guided access
  • Locating and accessing resources
  • Using built-in apps to develop reading, writing, speaking and research skills.

The trainer will be available after the workshop to help with any difficulties you might be experiencing when using your iPad, and to answer any iPad-related questions you have.

How to get there:

You can reach Tang Hall Explore on the First Bus route 6: Alight at Alcuin Avenue (East) and walk in the same direction as the bus to Tang Hall Lane. Turn left onto Tang Hall Lane and cross at the zebra crossing. Continue left, over the bridge and take the first right (Fifth Avenue). Continue straight on and you will see the library is on your right, next to the health centre.

Alternatively, take First Bus route 11: Alight at Bad Bargain Lane/Gerard Avenue junction. Cross the road and walk up Penyghent Avenue or Whernside Avenue. When you reach the end of the road you will be on Fifth Avenue and you will see the library opposite the end of Whernside Avenue.

Arriva bus route 25 runs between Fulford and Derwenthorpe, via the city centre and Morrisons. This bus stops outside the library.

There is free parking at the library. If no spaces are available in the library grounds, you can park on the roadside.
