The Transition Event, focus' on helping disabled young people, their parents and supporters as they become adults. The popular conference and exhibition, dedicated to helping disabled young people achieve their future, is being held on 17th May 2018 at the Ricoh Arena. When a child has a disability or special educational needs, there can be so many questions about their future. How can I get them the right education? Will they get a job? Can I help them live independently? How do I ensure their care plan transfers when they reach 18? The Transition Event is the ultimate one-day guide to this process for practitioners, parents and young people with additional needs. It aims to help answer questions, offer access to experts and give attendees really useful information to take away. The Transition Event includes a full day’s conference and workshops, covering all the main ‘transition’ topics, including education, health and care plans; social services; education options; employment and housing. It also offers a free-to-attend exhibition with up to 50 local and national services and organisations. New for 2018 Workshops for young people and parents/professionals on safe, loving supported relationships. School groups can tour the stadium to see what it’s like off the pitch. Booking required.
