When Faye contacted us to let us know she wanted to organise a charity family fun day for Family Fund, I don’t think we, or indeed Faye herself realised how big it would become.

Faye reports on the day.

“Well what a busy time we have had! We had a few hiccups along the way but Steptoe inflatables and DJ Pat the Kat came to the rescue donating soft play, bouncy castle, Pepper pig costume and of course DJ Pat with all his amazing songs for the children. Tom’s talking reptiles came along which went down a storm with everyone! Full of fire entertainment did some brilliant entertainment for everyone, they even enlisted a lot of their friends to come along and entertained with juggling, hula hopping, giant bubbles, plate spinning and general silliness.

A young disabled woman came along and did some amazing face-painting with the children – and firemen! Purley Fire Station were kind enough to come along with an engine for the children, they even came in and had a dance with the children and had their faces painted until they got a call out – bet that was fun for them to explain!

We had a craft table where the children had an amazing time doing lots of making!

We also had a used toys and clothes table where people could take what they liked and leave a donation what they were happy with.

Altogether a great day, with all of the community coming together. Without the help of my sister, mother and dozens of friends we couldn’t have done it. We had about 300+ young people including children attending.

We auctioned and raffled off items that everyone had spent months getting from local businesses. The day raised £981.49 but I have set up an online giving page which is generating more donations.

I really cannot thank everyone enough and I am overjoyed at the turn out and the money we raised.

And to top it all one major thing I forgot to say is we had Leon McKenzie attend!! Was an absolute privilege to see him!”
