Helping more disabled children

Over 59,000 families across the UK raising disabled or seriously ill children were helped by the Family Fund last year with £33 million in grants for essential items such as washing machines, bedding, clothing and computers.

Cheryl Ward, Chief Executive said: “2011/12 has been a tough year for the Family Fund and the thousands of families whom we help. Yet, despite a backdrop of government spending cuts and a fall in our own funding, we have achieved great things, supporting over 59,000 families last year.”

Our Annual Review 2011/12 and Accounts listed highlights how the Family Fund has been supporting families raising disabled or seriously ill children for nearly 40 years and continues to help more and more families year on year. The Fund’s team of nearly 200 Family Fund Advisers visited 8,785 families in their home to talk through applications face to face, providing essential help and support to advise on local and national support available to them.
