Our annual review tells families, funders and supporters about some of the ways we have made a difference to the lives of disabled and seriously ill children, young people and their families in the last year.

We make lives better

Every day at the Family Fund, we hear from families raising disabled and seriously ill children who are struggling both emotionally and financially.

Against the odds they are trying to lead an ordinary life and build a future for their children. We believe families caring for a disabled child or young person should have the same choices and opportunities as others. Our grants help them do just that, and make their lives better.

In 2010-11, more families than ever before turned to us for support. We continue to be the largest provider of grants to families, and supported over 56,700 families across the UK, despite the difficult funding environment.

This is, in no small measure, due to the commitment of the four UK governments who continue to recognise our work, our commercial partners, supporters and staff, who work incredibly hard to realise more from our valuable funds. As such we can pass on to families more than 91p in every pound we receive.
